The Sanilac County Board of Commissioners recognized three retiring veteran public servants.
Argyle Township Clerk Ed Pafaff is retiring after 50 years.
He joined the township board in 1975. Since then he has seen a lot of changes.
Some of which include changing from paper ballots to electronic voting machines, and continuous changes to state rules and regulations that have to be met.
Maple Valley Township Supervisor Rick Michell is retiring after 33 years.
During that time, Michell has seen changes in the duties a supervisor has to do and more state requirements.
The board also recognized Central Dispatch Director Dawn Cubitt who is retiring after 30 years.
She started in 1996 with the Sanilac County Sheriff's Department before going to dispatch, and taking over as director in 2003.
During time, dispatching has changed greatly with technology advancements, and more state regulations.
