The Tuscola County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public meeting regarding the county's road commission board at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, April 7.
The meeting will be at the Peoples Building at 171 North State St., which is across the alley from the Purdy Building.
The reason for the hearing is to receive public comment regarding the road commission.
During the last hearing, Commission Chair Kim Vaughan said the board is considering expanding the road board from five to seven members.
However, no explanation was given on how expanding the board would address issues of the road board's alleged in action on safety issues at six intersections, of not responding to residents' needs or emails, and rudeness.
Previously, Vaughan had pitched the possible transfer of powers and/or duties, and functions of the road commissioners to the board of county commissioners, replacing the road commission members, changing how the road commission's board is selected, and for the county to take over road commission operations.
Conducting two public hearings is required before county commissioners can take any action on the road commission.
The meeting can be viewed by going to the county's website at tscolacounty.org.
Over 150 people attended the first hearing on April 2 either in person or virtually, and there were 34 people who spoke.
