Alleged Embezzlement by Sandusky School Employee Being Reviewed

There was an update on an alleged embezzlement by an employee during the last Sandusky Board of Education meeting.
The investigation of a former employee for possible fraud and embezzlement has been submitted to the Sanilac County Prosecutor for review, according to Superintendent Kurt Dennis.
Dennis and the Sandusky Police Department issued a joint notice last fall about the investigation of possible fraud and embezzlement from the school district.
The investigation started when discrepancies with receipts and invoices were noticed by a staff member and contacted the police.
The Michigan State Police and the Sandusky Police Department executed search warrants at a residence on Golf View Drive.
During the searches, law enforcement officers allegedly discovered property that belonged to the school district.
