Marlette Selects Artist to do Downtown Mural

The city of Marlette approved having a mural painted in the downtown area that represents the community's roots.

The selection of the artist was done by the city's downtown development authority. They selected Kevin Burdick of Scrapes Designs.

The mural's design is supposed to reflect the area's agricultural background and the character of the Thumb area.

The mural, which is expected to be completed this summer, will be painted on the Michigan Agricultural Commodities (MAC) facility on M-53.

The project is part of the effort to make the downtown area welcoming and celebrating the area's roots in agriculture.
