Cass City Planning a Special Event to America's Birthday

The United States of America will celebrate its 250th anniversary this year and Cass City Village officials plan on joining in the special event.
During a committee of the whole meeting of the village council, Parks Director and Economic Development Director Melanie Radabaugh did a presentation on the Cass City Tile Mural Project for the SemiQuincentennial 200 tiles project.
The plan is to have local artisans and residents paint tiles, and then lay them out on a board to form a picture of the American flag superimposed with an American Bald Eagle.
The community painting day to do that is to be on Feb. 28 at the Cass City VFW Hall.
During discussion, it was decided to have upper level high school students and local volunteers do the painting.
However, if interest draws more than 200 potential painters then there will be a random draw.
