Frankenmuth Approves Keeping Republic For Trash Service

After consideration, the Frankenmuth City Council approved staying with a company that has been working with them.
During the meeting, Dennis Rupard and Brennan Henderson of Republic Services discussed the contract terms for trash removal. The two expressed their willingness to include a performance standard.
Following that, the council approved a five-Year contract for Commercial Containers with Republic Services.
In other city matters, the council approved reappointing Stella Grablick and Maggie Platko to the Parks and Recreation Commission, appointments of Jessica Weis and reappointed Dan Haubenstricker, Eva Horner, and Olivia Howard to the Sister City Committee.
Also, there will be planning commission public hearing at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 24 to receive input on the proposed expansion of Weiss Equipment, at 450 N. Main Street to construct a 2,291-square foot showroom expansion on the North side to the existing building.

The commission will review the information from the hearing to make a recommendation to the council.
