Railroad Crossing Upgraded Following Fatal Carrollton Crash

Safety improvements are now in place at a Carrollton Road railroad crossing after a deadly collision late last year.

Crews recently installed flashing signals, crossing arms, and warning bells at the intersection between Weiss and Stoker roads - a location that previously lacked such protections.

The upgrades come two months after 63 year old Olga Martinez struck a passing train there on December 4th, 2025, an accident that claimed her life.

Officials say the site has seen multiple serious incidents in the past, making the new safety features an important investment in preventing future tragedies.
