Tuscola County is Looking For Medical Examiner Services

Because Tuscola County's current contract for medical examiner services with William Morrone has expired, commissioners directed the county's Controller - Administrator Erica Dibble to get an updated proposal for the service.
Due to issues with the county's previous medical examiner Michigan Institute of Forensic Science and Medicine (MIFSM) , the county switched medical examiner services in 2020 to Morrone, who does business as Capitol Toxicology.
In other county matters, commissioners approved surrendering ownership of the animal control's 2019 Promaster Cargo Van. which has been deemed a total loss by the insurance carrier.
The county agreed to release the vehicle to the insurance company for salvage removal, with a settlement amount of $17,200.
In other animal control matters, Animal Control Director Tyler Ray's recommendation to hire Lisa Louk to fill the vacant part-time kennel assistant position for $16.92 was approved.
Also, Steve Zissler was appointed to the Tuscola County Behavioral Health System (TBHS) Board of Directors for a partial-term expiring March 31, and for the appointment to continue as a full-term appointment effective April 1, 2026 expiring March 31, 2029.
