In a scheduled hearing, Robinson was sentenced following her admission of a probation violation. The session, presided over by the judge, focused solely on imposing the sentence for the violation.
Prosecutors highlighted Robinson's prior record, noting two previous alcohol-related driving offenses, which could elevate a future offense to a felony under Michigan's "Pitey's Law." Both the prosecution and defense agreed with the probation officer's recommended sentence.
The court ordered Robinson to complete the "Thinking Matters" program at Professional Counseling Service. No fines, costs, or jail time were imposed. Additionally, Robinson's probation was terminated unsuccessfully.
The judge emphasized that under "Pitey's Law," any future alcohol-related offense, even decades later, could result in a felony conviction if prior offenses exist. Robinson is required to provide proof of program completion to her probation officer by March 31st, 2026.
