Monday January 12th Head On Collision Between Sebewaing And Unionville

A head-on collision between two vehicles was reported Monday evening on a rural roadway in Sebewaing Township, Huron County. The crash occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on January 12, 2026, along a two-lane county road that was dry but unlit at the time.
Sheriff's deputies responded to investigate and document the scene. Authorities said a northbound 2020 Jeep Renegade crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2016 Chrysler 300C. The report indicates the Jeep's driver may have fallen asleep just before the crash. Both vehicles were traveling straight when the impact occurred.
The Jeep and the Chrysler each sustained heavy front-end damage, with airbags deploying in both vehicles. Despite the severity of the collision, neither driver suffered serious injuries. Both were evaluated at the scene by Sebewaing EMS.
Sebewaing firefighters assisted with the response, and both vehicles were later removed from the roadway by separate towing services.
