Lapeer Health Department Awarded Funds for Serv-Safe Program

Funding from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will allow Lapeer County to continue a program.
DHHS awarded $5,000 to the Lapeer Health Department to be used for the Serv-Safe food safety certification program.
As a formality, the county has to approve accepting that funding.
A Serv-Safe food safety certification is a nationally recognized credential from the National Restaurant Association on safe food handling to prevent food-borne illnesses,
In other county matters, county commissioners approved renewing the agreement with Community Mental Health to provide substance abuse services, and intensive outpatient services.
The cost for that service is $73,000.
