Harbor Beach Man Held In Contempt After Fleeing Courthouse

Shane Lee Cook Jr. of Harbor Beach was re-arraigned Monday on charges of domestic violence third offense and interfering with an electronic device, habitual third offense.

On December 15th, 2025, Cook appeared in court and heared his bond would be revoked.

He told his attorney he was going to the restroom but instead left the building.

The judge acknowledged Cook's honesty in admitting what happened but found him in contempt of court.

Cook has served seven days in jail for contempt.

He is scheduled for sentencing on March 11th, 2026, at 9 a.m., with bond continuing as previously set.
