Oliver Township Planning Commission to Meet Thursday

The Oliver Township Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 15.

During the last meeting of the commission, solar energy was a key topic.

There was discussion about a 200 megawatt battery storage on Pinnebog Road.

It was noted that NextEra Energy Resources could be looking to put a 600 mega watt system in the township using seven acres of land.

It was also pointed out that Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy's (EGLE) has grants available at $5,000 per megawatt.
