Vehicle Fire Called In For Peppermill Restaurant

Emergency crews responded over the weekend to a report of a pickup truck fire in the parking lot of the Peppermill Restaurant in Bad Axe.

Bad Axe Police and Bad Axe Firefighters found smoke coming from the engine area of a Ford F-150.

The vehicle's owner, who was inside the restaurant at the time, told authorities he noticed an unusual odor upon arrival but did not see smoke.

Firefighters determined that insulation in the engine compartment had overheated and begun to smolder.

The issue was quickly contained, and the truck remained operable.
