Lapeer Commissioners Set to Conduct Reorganization Meeting

During the last county meeting in December 2025, the Lapeer County Board of Commissioners set the date for their reorganizational meeting.
Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 8 to do the reorganization process.
As part of the reorganization, the board will appoint a chair and new vice chair.
Some of the other action that is generally taken during a county commissioners' meeting, is appointment of board members to standing committees, and setting the date and time of county meetings.
During the last 2025 meeting, commissioners approved allowing the health department to accept a $5,000 check from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
The funds will be used for the Serv-Safe food safety certification program.
Approval was also given to renew the agreement with Community Mental Health for $73,000 to provide substance abuse services, and intensive outpatient services.
