Some financial matters were discussed during this month's meeting of the Elkton Village Council.

Clerk-Treasurer Phyllis Baranski reported $330,644 in taxes have been collected, and that $23,837 in taxes were not able to be collected by the village.

However, she explained the county has reimbursed the village for the uncollected tax amount.

Because of that, the village will receive a total of $354,480 in property taxes.

She also reported the village's Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will receive about $26,000 from the tax money.

Baranski also reported the Elkton Community Club's Autumnfest and Born to Be Wild event donated $4,500 to the village to help with costs of hosting the festivals.
