Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon, October 9th, in Huron County's Colfax Township.
According to the Huron County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred at approximately 3:03 p.m. on South Van Dyke Road, about 528 feet northeast of Soper Road.
Investigators say a 2025 Kia Sorento, driven by a 27-year-old Ubly woman, had slowed and stopped in the roadway to make a left turn when it was struck from behind by a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 33-year-old Bad Axe woman.
The driver of the Kia complained of minor injuries and had a four-year-old passenger who was not injured.
The driver of the Chevrolet complained of right knee and chest pain. Two passengers, ages 15 and 13, also reported injuries, including chest, hip, back, and neck pain.
The crash caused disabling damage to both vehicles, which were removed from the scene by Max's Towing.
The sheriff's office says the driver of the Chevrolet was cited for being unable to stop within an assured clear distance ahead.
The crash remains documented as a rear-end collision. Alcohol and drugs were not suspected as contributing factors.
The Bad Axe Fire Department, Central Huron Ambulance, and Elkton Ambulance assisted at the scene.
