Quick Response Contains Fire At Lapeer County Manufacturing Facility

A Friday evening, October 9th, fire at a manufacturing facility in Lapeer County was brought under control before it could spread beyond the equipment involved.
Lapeer Fire and Rescue crews were dispatched to RelyansMax Lapeer in Mayfield Township shortly after 7 p.m. on October ninth.
Fire Chief Mike Vogt says the incident involved a heater that caught fire inside the facility.
Firefighters were able to contain the damage to the heater, preventing the flames from spreading to other parts of the building.
Crews also ventilated the structure to clear the air following the fire.
Officials reported the situation was under control by approximately 7:52 p.m., about 42 minutes after the initial dispatch.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities have not released additional details about what caused the heater to catch fire.
