David Clare Schuette has settled his case with a plea agreement.

Schuette entered a 'no contest' plea to charges of assaulting a healthcare professional and malicious destruction of property, citing a lack of independent memory.

In return, a reckless driving charge was dismissed. The court accepted the plea after reviewing the Bad Axe Police Department's incident report.

Schuette now faces a total of $1425 in fees, fines, cost and restitution.

His existing felony probation was a key factor in the sentencing, meaning no additional jail time or probation was imposed.

A $10,000 cash bond will cover the costs, with the remainder of the cash bond being refunded.
