Little by little the formation of the Central Huron Ambulance service being operated as an authority is coming together.
During the last meeting of the Bad Axe City, the council approved paying the city's assessment of $30,210 for its share of the ambulance's service.
The process of having the ambulance governed by an authority instead of a board started in 2025.
The process was a slow one as each of the municipalities that use the ambulance service had to agree to the change to being governed by an authority.
In addition, the ambulance service approved the $295,000 purchase of a new ambulance, but it is not expected to be received until late 2028 or in early 2029.
With that done, the council approved the suggestion made a previous meeting to add a second public hearing during meetings.
The council also approved the reappointment of Clark McKimmy to the Bad Axe Fire Protection Association Board, and the reappointment of Leonard Particka to the Board of Review for another three-year term.
