During the February meeting of the Elkton-Pigeon-Bay Port Laker School District's Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Jill VerBurg provided a building update.

According to her, there have been several meetings regarding the design work for the band room, middle school, and the secondary collaborative space.

"The discussions have focused on how students and staff will use each space, what needs to be prioritized and what design elements would best support learning and instructions," said VerBerg.

District officials want to make sure they make decisions that will best utilize the $12.7 million bond proposal voters approved in 2025.

Some of the items the 20-year bond will be used for is to enhance security, replacing aging infrastructure, upgrading HVAC systems, and improving playgrounds.

During the meeting, the board approved advancement of probationary teachers that were recommended by the principals and the evaluation process.

The following teachers were recommended to continue.

Tenure was granted for Jodi Golochowicz, Ami Park, Suzan Travis, David Snider and Tim Warnock.

Those who will move on to the fifth year are Brittany Asmody, Brennan Wissner, and Brianna Fibranz.

Those who move on to the fourth year are Jessica Podlesney and Baylee Reder.

Moving on to the third year are Lora Aldrich, Nicole Grigg, Katlin Kady, Haley McArdle, Madelyn Peplinski, and Bryce Sears.

Second year was granted to Jard Forbes, Maissa Petiprin-Ball, Amanda Schumacher, Madisyn Wisenbaugh, Madelyn Wisser.
