Barn Fire Destroys Structures Near Sebewaing

On Sunday evening, a large fire destroyed multiple farm structures at the intersection of Sebewaing and Notter Roads, officials said. Fire crews from the Owendale Fire Department, Windsor Township Fire Department, and Oliver Township Fire Department responded to the blaze, with Scheurer EMS on scene in a support role.
The fire ultimately consumed a pole barn, an adjoining storage barn, a trailer house, and resulted in the loss of animals kept inside. Firefighters battled the blaze for approximately five hours before bringing it under control. No injuries were reported among responders or residents.
The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation, and authorities have not yet released details on a suspected cause. Investigators will continue to work with fire officials to determine how the incident began.
Local mutual-aid responses to barn and agricultural fires have been notable in the region this year, with several Huron County departments frequently assisting neighboring communities in similar large-scale fires.
