Sanilac County Settles Some Labor Contracts

Some Sanilac County Employees will receive a financial boost in January 2026.
Three-year contracts for two labor groups in the sheriff's department were approved as well as a labor contract for dispatchers by Sanilac Commissioners.
The contracts outline a 3-percent pay increase in 2026, a 2-percent pay increase in 2027, and 2-percent pay increase in 2028 for lieutenants, sergeants, and dispatchers. However, there are still more labor contracts that have to be settled in the sheriff's department. Those contracts are for the road patrol deputies and corrections officers.
Regarding other money matters, a $22,950 payment for lead and mold abatement at 4031 Main St., Brown City. The funding for that will come from the state land bank authority.
Commissioners also accepted $71,655 from the state for remonumentation for establishing 50 corners. Of that amount. $4,364 will be paid to the county's representative John Milletics, $2,866 will be paid to Leslie Hilgendorf for administration of the grant, and Ben Tank, Charles Koob, and Milletics will share $62,250. Also, the peer group members Tanks, Koob and Russ Brown will be paid $2,184.
In addition, a one-year agreement was approved between Sanilac County and Huron County to share economic development services at a cost not to exceed $45,000.
