Cass City Future Farmers Project Helped Provide a Holiday Meal

The Cass City School District's Future Farmers of America (FFA) raised several chickens as part of a hands-on class project.
Those tiny chickens that started out at the beginning of the school year are now fully grown and will provide a holiday meal along with all of the trimmings.
That is being done to support the school's families with the agriculture program of giving back to the community by providing farm-raised chickens and food baskets to families in need.
The chickens were raised and prepared by the FFA students as part of their hands-on learning in agriculture, responsibility, and service.
The students' efforts reflect the heart of the agriculture program and the FFA program of learning by doing, and giving by caring.
To go along with the chickens, food baskets were also given.
The students and the district are grateful for the opportunity to support school families and to teach students the value of helping others through agriculture.
