A preliminary examination for Steven Jason Jones has been postponed.

The reason? A federal ammunition charge has reshaped his legal landscape, leading to a little bit of confusion over his local cases. Prosecutor Tim Rutkowski planned to drop state ammunition charges while pursuing a drug case, but defense attorney Ms. Weisenbach was under the impression all state matters were dismissed. This communication breakdown prompted the court to adjourn the hearing.

The preliminary exam is now set for Friday, March 13th, at 9:30 AM. The prosecutor's office will also need to craft a new plea offer, as the original 'package deal' is no longer valid.
