Sanilac County Deputies Discover THC Operation In Home With Children

Sanilac County authorities are preparing charges against a man and woman after discovering an alleged THC extraction operation inside a home where children were living.
Deputies responding to a welfare check at a residence on Washington Road in Sanilac Township executed a search warrant and found equipment used for butane-based marijuana extraction, along with more than 260 pounds of unprocessed marijuana plant material.
Officials said butane extraction is a hazardous process because of the chemical's high flammability.
Drug Task Force personnel trained in laboratory dismantling safely removed the equipment from the home.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the case will be submitted to the prosecutor's office once completed.
Authorities have not released additional details.
