The Tuscola County Economic Development Corporation and Brownfield Redevelopment Authority Board held the last meeting of the year on Tuesday along with honoring some retiring board members.

During the meeting, retiring board members Bob Wolak, Rose Putnam, and John Tilt, who had more than 40 collective years of service to the EDC, were honored.

The meeting was held in the EDC's new location at the Michigan State University's Extension Office at 362 Green St., Caro.

The EDC moved from 141 South Almer St., to Green Street because that building is being sold, and also as cost savings. Because the county owns the extension office, the EDC will not have to pay rent.

Besides having a new office location, the EDC also has a new director. Alisha Proctor, was selected in July as the executive director.

In her brief time as a director, Proctor helped to secure grants along with heralding some business expansions.
