Joseph William Pierce Is Declared Competent To Stand Trial

Joseph William Pierce has been declared competent to stand trial following a recent hearing.

The ruling came after the court reviewed a 17-page forensic psychiatry report from Dr. Jennifer Whitmore, which concluded Pierce understands the proceedings and can assist in his own defense.

With no objections from the defense, the case will now move forward, with attorneys set to schedule a trial date for next week.

This decision clears the way for the criminal process to continue.
