The Genesee Street Bridge Replacement Project to Start in 2027

The Spicer Group Inc. was hired to do the engineering of a major infrastructure project in the city of Lapeer.

The city received a $3.8-million grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation's Local Bridge Program.

The money will be used to demolish and replace the Genesee Street bridge that was built about 90 years ago.

For doing the construction engineering, Spicer will be paid $299,968 for the construction of the new bridge that is expected to start in spring 2027.
