Biography

Marion L. Teeple, 90, of Port Sanilac, formerly of Minden City, passed from this world on August 31, 2017. She was born June 20, 1927 in Delaware Township to the late Dolf and Mary (Stein) Schock. She attended Minden City High School and graduated from Central Michigan University.  Marion was a stewardess for Capitol Airlines before launching her fifty- year teaching career at the Ruth Country School in 1946.  She subsequently taught in the early elementary grades at Carsonville, Deckerville, Ubly, and Harbor Beach Community Schools until her retirement in 1996. She stepped down from teaching with mixed feelings because she loved everything about it. It was a role truly meant for her. Later she would frequently be thrilled by chance encounters with former students, and always remembered even those from some of her earliest years in the classroom.    Her retirement, too, was very fulfilling and enjoyable as she spent much of her time with her children and grandchildren. She also socialized in outings with other former teachers, and occasionally with some of her CMU sorority sisters.  Marion was fiercely loyal to family and friends, but was also discerning, and uncompromising in her support of causes in which she truly believed.  She was thoughtful and generous, creative and bright.  Her quick wit always brought smiles to the faces of those in her company.   She was very much loved and respected, and will be greatly missed.
