Kenneth J. Holz, 88, of Meade Township, passed away on September 29, 2019 at his home. He was born on September 1, 1931 to the late Matthew and Delcina (Bouverette) Holz. On April 7, 1956 he married Doris M. Trepkowski. Ken was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church/St. Hubert Parish. He was a board member of Meade Township for many years. His passion was working on his family farm. Ken also enjoyed hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.

Robert and Barbara had two sons, Robert Jr IV (wife Carol) and John (wife Christina), and four grandchildren: Emily, Robert Jr. V, Andrew and Samuel. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Robert III, son Robert IV, brother Jack and his wife, Linda.
BARBARA ANNE ADAMS, 81, of Caseville, was surrounded by her family when she passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2019 in Portage, Michigan. Barbara was born on October 4, 1937 in Neenah, Wisconsin and was the daughter of John and Sophie Schiebler. She spent most of her childhood in Neenah but during her high school years, her family moved to Niagara Falls, NY where she attended the Stella Niagara prep school. She Attended the University of Michigan and Wayne State University and received a degree in elementary education. In April 1957, she married Robert T. Adams III in Ann Arbor. They lived briefly in Marietta, OH and Chicago and by 1960, they had settled in the Detroit area. In 1972, they moved to Caseville, where Robert started his own foundry business and Barbara became an elementary teacher at the Caseville Public School. She taught there for over 25 years and was a member of the Michigan Beta Chi Chapter of the Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Sorority for Women Educators. Barbara loved to play cards and bridge was her favorite game. She was an avid reader and always had a crossword puzzle by her chair. She enjoyed living on Saginaw Bay and was often found on the local golf course. She always had a cat or two, and her friend “Mini†was by her side when she passed. Barbara loved to collect antiques and for several summers, ran her own antique store in Caseville.

He was born on March 23, 1957 to Ray and Pat Emming of Ruth, Michigan. He married Julie Peterson on July 13, 1991 in San Diego, California. Mike enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle. Mike went to Harbor Beach High School. He worked at Ruth Elevator and later took a job working with Atlas Vans. Mike was currently working for Ace Relocation Systems in San Diego.

Mr. Chad Lee Schumacher, 40 of Ubly passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 due to injuries sustained in a car accident in Sanilac County. He was born on February 13, 1979 in Bad Axe to Michael Schumacher and Diane Heiden. He never married. Chad was a 1997 graduate of Ubly High School. He worked with his dad for a while doing construction. He received his certificate from the Culinary Institute of Michigan. He also worked for many dairy farms in the area. Jeanette Kubacki, age 79, of Kinde, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City. Jeanette was born in Kinde on February 12, 1940, daughter of the late Edward and Esther (Glaza) Polega. She married Henry Kubacki on October 22, 1960 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Dwight. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2012. Jeanette was a 40 year employee of Huron City and Pt. Aux Barques, cleaning the museum and cottages.

Ryan R. Lackie, 44, of Bay Port, died Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Scheurer Hospital. Ryan was born September 25, 1975 in Detroit to the late Michael and Rita (Verfaillie) Lackie. He graduated from Caseville High School in 1994. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He had his own carpentry business and worked for others. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and body building. If there was a need, he was the first person there to help.

Mary Ann was born February 29, 1940 in Pasadena, California to the late Robert and Dorothy (Ray) Miller. She graduated from Farmington High School in 1958. On November 9, 1963 she married Roy Bruce Moening in Farmington. She was a wonderful wife, sister, mother and friend, and quick to make a friend wherever she went and every friend she made was a lifelong friend. She was talented with many crafts and gifted in quilting. She was a member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary-Euchre Club and Elkton Missionary Church.

Janet Kay Molsberry, 79, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Oak Beach, died Saturday, September 21, 2019 in Florida. Jan was born March 31, 1940 in Royal Oak to the late Charles and Irene (Pethers) Eddy. She worked as a nurse’s aid at Martin Place Hospital in Madison Heights while living in Ferndale and raising her family. Later she moved to New Mexico with her husband Blackie and then to Bradenton, Florida. She spent summers in Oak Beach most of her life. Jan loved God and her family. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed playing games such as backgammon, Scrabble and card games, scrapbooking, and listening to Jimmy Swaggert. She enjoyed Facetiming with her great-grandsons. She was a wonderful mother, sister and friend and will be missed and loved by all.

Jack Duane Marsa, born at Bad Axe Hubbard Hospital on November 13, 1930, passed to his rest on Wednesday, September 18, 2019; age 88. He was the son of the late Norman and Roberta (Henry) Marsa. Jack graduated from Bad Axe High School, class of 1949 and went on to farm all his life in the Rapson area. He married Donna Shea on August 7, 1966 at the Sarnia, ON Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Jack was a member of the Bad Axe SDA Church where he served as deacon for many years. He retired from farming eight years ago after a traumatic brain injury robbed him of his memory. He continued to enjoy reading the farm papers, his Bible and visiting with family and friends.

Mrs. Pamela Jo Kahler, age 77, of Bad Axe, passed away on September 16, 2019. Pam was born to the late Charles and Josephine Hibberd on November 25, 1942 in Wyandotte, Mi. She grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Mi, where she was a 1960 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and her Masters of Social Work degree from Michigan State University in 1964 and 1966 respectively. She married her best friend, Lee W. Kahler on August 8, 1964, at St. John’s Student Center, East Lansing. Pam understood her mission to love and serve the Lord through serving mankind. Her career took her to the Family Service Agency of Genesee County and to Catholic Family Service of the Thumb, where she provided adoption and foster care service, individual and family counseling. She then completed her professional career as a Medical Social Worker at Harbor Beach Community Hospital/Long Term Care Unit. Along the way she also taught classes at area colleges, worked in Home Care Services and as a Youth Minister at Sacred Heart Church. She continued to provide service through a variety of Community Services, such as The Homeless Coalition and Huron County Baby Pantry. She served on the Board of Trustees with the Bad Axe Schools and Huron County Mental Health Board. She served as a Lay Minister for Sacred Heart Church for many years, being active as an Extra-ordinary Eucharistic Minister, worked as coordinator of and participated in scripture study, Lecturing at Mass and cooperated wherever the pastor requested. She also served as lay Procurator for the Marriage Tribunal. The scripture study and Lay Ministry groups were very special to her. Pam’s main joy were her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, dancing, golf, bowling, travel and exercise. She and her husband attended 5 Summer Olympic Games, traveling to Atlanta, GA., Sydney. Australia, Athens, Greece, Beijing, China and London, England. Emily and Ben were old enough to join her in London which made it very special. She also had a great time taking all the grandchildren to Grandparents University at MSU which was very special to her. Many people will remember her as having a quiet, calming effect on others, especially at a time of chaos.

Darlene Terrasi, age 77, of Bad Axe, passed away on September 16, 2019 surrounded by her family at Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. Darlene was born January 3, 1942 in Mt. Clemens, daughter of the late Curtis and Muriel (Jackson) Mardlin. She was the step-daughter of the late Neil Jenkins and the late Jim Gendle. She married her love Carl Terrasi on October 13, 1962. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1990. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, crossword puzzles and reading. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years as well as assisting her husband, who was a Boy Scout Master, with activities and outings. She loved holidays and seasonal decorating as well as her holiday baking. After she raised her children, she took on the role of a foster mother, which brought her much pride and joy. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She married Richard J. Dukelow on June 13, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1981. Sophia was a member of the Bad Axe First Presbyterian Church in Bad Axe. She was a registered nurse and retired from Huron Memorial Hospital. Sophia enjoyed cooking, snow shoeing and going for walks.

Clarence P. Schadd, age 89, of Pigeon, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at McLaren Thumb Region Hospital in Bad Axe. Clarence was born on September 1, 1930 in Filion, son of the late Clarence M. and Welthy (Jurgess) Schadd. He married Eleanor Licht on February 29, 1964. Clarence graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1948 and attended Bay City Junior College. He was a stunt driver for two years with the Joie Chitwood’s Thrill Show. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War, serving in Japan. He was a lifetime farmer. He was also employed at Active Industries, Pigeon Manufacturing, Shadyside Stamping and Lakeside Stamping. He was a member of Cross Lutheran Church, formerly serving as a council member, treasurer of Building Fund, an usher, bell ringer and reader. He was a member of the VFW in Pigeon and he received the 100,000 Mile Award for driving veterans to the hospital.

Robert K. Anderson, 96, of Caseville, died Friday, September 13, 2019 at Adela Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw surrounded by his family. Bob was born August 23, 1923 in Detroit to the late Axel and Eva (Carlson) Anderson. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 1950. On December 2, 1954 he married Joan Corcoran in Pontiac. Bob practiced law in Novi for over 40 years and served 12 years as a justice of the peace. Upon retiring he moved from Bloomfield Hills to Caseville in 2004, where he had had a cottage for many years. He is a member of the Caseville United Methodist Church, Caseville Eagles, Caseville American Legion and was the founding president of two Rotary clubs: Novi and Farmington.

ARTHUR R. JAHN, age 85 of Ruth, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019, at Courtney Manor Nursing Center of Bad Axe. Art was born on April 7, 1934 in Port Hope to the late Fred and Elsie (Brandenstein) Jahn. He and Shirley Balcer were united in marriage on June 9, 1956 at OLLH Catholic Church. Art served as President of St. John Lutheran Church in Palms where he was also a member, the Sherman Fire Department, served on the Ubly School Board and the Sherman Township Zoning Board. He retired as manager of Thumb Farm Service after 37 years. Art was a family man, a faithful man, and an elevator man. Art enjoyed hunting, camping, traveling, and being the #1 Fan to his children and Grandchildren’s Sporting events. His most precious moments were those spent with his wife of 63 years, his 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Heaven has certainly gained a gifted soul who will be forever missed by family and friends. She was born March 8, 1940 in California to the late Leigh & Mary (Kanthak) Facer. She was united in marriage with James Koehn in Harbor Beach, January 23, 1960 at OLLH Catholic Church. Mary Lee enjoyed spending time with her entire family, especially her grandchildren. Lynda J. Pietscher, 61, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Caseville, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at her home surrounded by family and friends following a brief illness. She was born on April 4, 1958 in Saginaw, daughter of the late K. William and Joanne (Olmsted) Pietscher. Lynda graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1976 and received her B.S. degree from Eastern Michigan in Speech Communication. She spent many years working in the customer service industry. Lynda enjoyed going to the beach and being by the water, following politics, and was an excellent debater. She loved animals and adopted two cats from Cass River Pet Friendz. Her passion was the theater and she spent several years acting both in college and at the Port Austin Community Players. She also used her acting skill set and partnered with Sandra McLean of S and D puppetry to voice characters in children’s puppet shows throughout Huron County. Lynda will always be remembered for her outstanding performances in: Mame, Gypsy, Oliver, Kalidescope, Fiddler on the Roof, and Grease (to name a few). For Lynda, there was no such thing as a small role. It is a testament to her acting skills that she could take a walk-on part and end up “stealing the show†with her wonderful characterization of a bag lady in Little Shop of Horrors at PACP. In 2014, Lynda moved to Lakeland, Florida to start a new chapter in her life.
