Bay City Woman Sentenced For Fatal Saginaw Township Crash

A Bay City woman has been ordered to serve 20 to 40 years in prison for a 2024 drunken driving crash that killed 37 year old Melissa Wood in Saginaw Township.

According to court records, 46 year old Bobbi Jo Shively received the sentence after pleading no contest in October to operating while intoxicated causing death and failing to stop at a fatal crash.

The plea means she accepted the penalty without admitting guilt.

Investigators said Shively ran a red light at the intersection of Tittabawassee and Hospital roads in August 2024, hitting Wood's vehicle.

Shively left the scene with another acquaintance before being arrested later that day.
