Former Saginaw Teacher Accused Of Abusing 6 Year Old Student

A former Saginaw teacher accused of abusing a 6 year old student at Stone Elementary now faces a misdemeanor child abuse charge.

Police say 72 year old Charline Bodiford was working through a temp agency in October 2024 when school surveillance video appeared to show her kicking, stepping on, and shoving the child in a hallway.

She is charged with fourth-degree child abuse, which carries up to one year in jail, and was recently arraigned and released on a personal recognizance bond.

Saginaw Public Schools say Bodiford retired from the district in 2013 and has not been allowed back to work there since the incident, while a former student has raised concerns about her behavior dating back decades.

Bodiford has declined to comment on the case.
