Lapeer County Residents to Vote on Neighboring School Requests

Lapeer County residents whose property is in one of the surrounding school districts will be going to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 4 to vote on the school's ballot request.
The Brandon School District is asking voters to approve a $39.5 million proposal that will be used for security, technology, equipment, buses, remodeling, athletic fields, and other improvements.
Approval of the ballot request will not be a tax increase.

The Davison School District will ask voters to renew 1.3497 mills for 10 years to continue funding the sinking fund.
A sinking fund can be used to buy real estate, construction, remodeling, infrastructure, repair of buildings, and equipment.
The Goodrich School District will be asking voters for permission to borrow $64 million.
The request is a renewal which means there will be no increase in taxes beyond what is currently being levied.
The funds will be used for building, technology, athletic fields, infrastructure, buses, buildings, and other necessary items.
The Marlette School District will ask voters to renew the standard 18 mills on non-homestead property except for the principal residence for six years that is used for operations.
The funding from that ballot request is necessary for the school district to receive state aid per pupil funding.
The Mayville School District is also asking voters to approve the renewal of the standard 18 mills for operations for five years on non homestead property.
The funding is necessary for the school district to receive the state aid per pupil funding.
The Oxford School District will have two proposals on the ballot.
There will be a request to renew the standard 18 mills for operations for 10 years on non homestead property.
The funding is necessary for the school district to receive state aid per pupil funding.
The second request is for a new one mill levy for 10 years.
If approved, the money would be used for a variety of needs. It would be used for security, building repairs, upgrades, for technology, for buses, and more.
