Finances were part of the Elkton Village Council's last meeting.

Clerk/Treasurer Phyllis Baranski reported the 2025 village taxes collected were settled with the county treasurer.

A total of $329,028 was collected with approximately $20,619 that was not collected.

Baranski reported that $25,467 was collected in revenue for the village's Downtown Development Authority (DDA).

Also, approval was given to pay bills totaling $47,250.

During the meeting, Police Chief Scott Jobes reported complaints are trending up this year. So far, there have been 583 complaints handled compared to 572 complaints last year.

Jobes reported he also has several court cases coming up, and that the annual Born to Be Wild event was quiet with the normal amount of complaint calls.
