There could be some changes coming in the Oliver Township Fire Department.

During the last meeting of the township's board of trustees, there was a lengthy discussion about the succession plan for Fire Chief Jim Seley.

The board asked Seley to name at least two successors and to make sure they are up to speed with certification and training so whoever is selected can take over when necessary.

Seley is expected to have those names ready at this month's council meeting.

Regarding other fire department matters, the board approved increasing the fire department's budget to $56,000.

Also, increasing the fire department's salary budget to $6,500 was approved as was an account for the fire department's gas bills, and for the rest to be paid out of the general fund.

Also, the board appointed Lonna Fisher, Colleen Krohn, and Bill Herford to one-year terms on the board of review.
