Following the November General Election, there were some changes on the Imlay City Council.

Clerk/Treasurer Sawicki-Franz administered the oath of office to newly elected members Tom Blount, Stu Davis and Bob Tanis.

With that done, the election of officers was next. Barbara Yockey was selected as mayor, and for mayor pro-tem Bob Tanis was selected.

Despite the recent election, there was one opening on the council, which two people applied for. They were Luke Stempien and Shane Collison.

They appointed Stempien to the open seat, and Joi Kempf was appointed to the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board.

Also, some of the park improvements that had been done in 2024 were highlighted.

According to Parks and Recreation member Frank Demske, there was an event in December to show off the improvements done to the Dryden Memorial Park's Polly Ann Trail with a SPARKS grant, which also included limestone from Dryden Road to Casey Road, and with SPARKS funds the Lions Park at the corner of Blacks Corners Road was able to be revitalized.

The budget meeting was changed from March 20 to March 31.
