Huron County Commissioners set meetings and appointments

When the Huron County Board of Commissioners met to do the reorganization of the board, they elected Commissioner Mary Babcock, who represents District #7 as chair, and Steve Vaughan, who represents District #4 as vice chair.
Other returning commissioners were Joe Murphy for District #4, Sami Khoury for District #1. Newcomers to the police arena were District #2 Commissioners Kurt R. Geiger, District #3 J. Scott Maust, and District #5 is John Hunt.
Another part of organizing the board for the new year, was setting the date and times for board meetings, and doing appointments to committees and boards.
The finance Committee meeting will at 8 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of the months, and the personnel committee will meet at 9:45 on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.
And, the board of commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. on the second and Fourth Tuesdays of the month.
Commissioners met the boardroom in the Huron County Courthouse in Bad Ae in room 305 on the third floor.
The following are the appointments that were done:
For the Agencies Committee, the chair is Maust, vice chair is Geiger, and Khoury is a member.
On the Finance Committee, the Chair is Khoury, Vice Chair is Hunt, and Murphy is a member.
Serving on the Legislative Committee are Hunt as chair, Vaughan as Vice Chair, and Maust.
Serving on the Personnel Committee are Murphy as chair, Khoury as vice chair, and Hunt.
Those on the Properties Committee are; Vaughan as chair, Maust as vice chair, and Geiger.
For the Safety Committee, Geiger is the chair, vice chair is Murphy, and Vaughan.
Some of the other appointments that was made were:
Maust to be on the Economic Development Corporation (EDC).
Those on the GST MI-works governing board are Babcock, Khoury, and Murphy as an alternate.
The representatives on Regional Solid Waste are Geiger and Hunt.
Serving on the HDC Board of Directors is Maust, and serving on the HDC Seniors Advisory Council are Maust and Khoury.
Hunt will serve on the Huron County Triad, and he will serve on the Medical Control Advisory Committee.
Geiger will serve on the 911 Advisory Board.
Khoury will serve on the CA/N Council.
Serving on the Substance Abuse, on the Oversight Policy Board is Murphy as an alternate.
Babcock will serve on the 2-1-1 Board of Directors.
Serving on the Thumb Area Community Advisory Board is Geiger.
