Bad Axe Man Charged for Gas Station Brawl with Police Sergeant (Huron County)

Charges have recently been brought against a local man, who had allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with a Police Officer.
An incident that occurred at the Express Stop in Bad Axe on October 4th, has brought Eric Robert Dukes, age 34 of Bad Axe, infront of the Huron County 52nd Circuit Court. Dukes has pleaded not guilty to:
* Assaulting/Resisting a Police Officer causing injury,
* (3x) Counts of Assaulting/Resisting a Police Officer
* Disturbing the Peace
Officers had responded to a call of a man causing a disturbance at the gas station, where Dukes was being denied a return on an item. As the situation had continued, officers had ultimately decided to place Dukes under arrest for disturbing the peace. Dukes had began to physically resist the Police sergeant, but was able to be apprehended with additional assistance. The officer did seek medical attention after the altercation was over.
Dukes has been scheduled for trial and pre-trial by Judge Gerald M. Prill. Pre-trial will be on Tuesday, May 12th, and trial is scheduled for Tues, June 10 at 9am. He remains on a surety bond of $50,000.
