Several school districts in the thumb area are still looking for people to drive a bus.

The Rees Public School District is among those who need bus drivers.

Being short drivers puts the district in a challenging position. There is a possibility the district will not be able to do a route on because one of the drivers is sick.

If there are two to three residents, family members, or farmers who can help the district would appreciate it.

There were several expressions of appreciation given the meeting.

Kudos were give to: the sixth-grade class for inviting senior citizens to the school to have breakfast and playing bingo, and for going out to rake leaves for those who were not able to do that, and to the band for going to the veterans' hospital in Saginaw to before for the veterans.

"I am very impressed with our students and how they do not hesitate to get out into the community. This is a true testament of the parents and the values they instill in their children," noted Superintendent Jordan Ackerman.

A special recognition was given to the fall sports teams. The district's volleyball team finished third in the conference, the football team finished with a playoff win, and cross country also had a great season with Wesley Haines qualifying for states.

Also, congratulations were given to Reese alum Brady Goka on being named as the Coordinator of Scouting and Analytics for the University of Alabama basketball team.
