Pigeon receives positive audit report

The end of the fiscal year budget showed that the village of Pigeon is in good financial shape.
Kylie Braun with Nietzke and Faupel, PC reviewed the year-end report as of Feb. 29, 2024 of the village.
The audit showed the village's general fund, unassigned fund balance increased from $1,059,142 to $1,110,856.
The sewer fund ended the year with an unassigned fund balance of $746,330. That was an increase over last year which was $718,444.
The water fund ended the year with an unassigned fund balance of $162,907. The Trunkline Fund ended the year with an unassigned fund balance of $8,045 which was an increase from last year's $4,657 balance.
Also, the village's pension liability decreased from 98.3 percent funded to 88.1 percent funded.
The village's total debt decreased by $237,548.
Overall the village "had a very good year", according to the audit report.
In other matters, the council approved spending $18,955 to have Pyramid Paving pave the horseshoe drive at Veterans Park.
