Once again two Thumb area communities will have an opportunity to vote for the Best Film and Best Actor in the 27 Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival screenings.
The Harbor Beach Community Theatre and the Rawson Memorial Library in Cass City will participate in the Manhattan Short Film Festival event again this year.
The showing in Harbor Beach will be from Sept. 27 through Oct. 3 with shows at 7 p.m., on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Thursday as well as a 2 p.m., matinee on Sunday.
At the Rawson Library, the first showing is at 1 p.m. this coming Saturday (Sept. 28), then at 5:30 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 30, and at 1 p.m., on Thursday Oct. 3.
The Film Festival screens simultaneously across 500 venues around the world during a one-week period, where attendees vote for Best Film and Best Actor awards at each participating venue of 10 selected short films.
Participates will have an opportunity to vote on the films, and will be given a ballot at the beginning of the showings.
Every short film selected will automatically become qualified for the Oscars of 2025.
Not only do Manhattan Short film goers get the chance to watch the cream of the crop of this year's international short films, every audience votes for their favorite film and actor on a ballot they are given.
