Voters in Imlay City and Imlay Township Each Approve Millage Requests

Imlay City and Imlay Township residents were each asked to approve millages during Tuesday's election.

Imlay City residents were asked to renew 2.5 mills for years 2027 to 2034 for streets and sidewalks.

The proposal passed with 285 yes votes to 274 no votes, and it will generate about $364,000 the first year.

Also, Imlay Township asked voters to approve a request for a new 1.3 mills for five years to fund fire protection services throughout Imlay township.

The proposal passed with 371 yes votes to 331 no votes.

The millage will generate about $205,948 the first year.
