Elmwood Fire Department Assistant Chief Paul Lopez Honored

Elmwood Township Fire and Rescue announced Assistant Chief Paul Lopez was awarded the Michigan State Firemen's Association Public Service Award.
The Public Service Award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to serving both the fire service and the communities they protect.
Recipients are recognized for their commitment to public education, community involvement, firefighter mentorship, and selfless service that extends beyond the normal expectations of the profession.
Lopez embodies all of those qualities and more. He has done all of that and more for 40 years.
He has impacted the lives of hundreds of firefighters in the state through his work as a Michigan Fire Instructor, his involvement with the Tuscola and Huron County Fire Academies, fire safety presentations, and serving on the county's Critical Incident Stress Management Team.
Paul Lopez was presented with that honor by his son Trace Lopez, who is Michigan State Firemen's Association Third Vice President.
