Huron County Circuit Court - A show cause hearing was held today in the case of People of the State of Michigan versus Joseph Wesley LaCourse.
The hearing addressed unpaid court obligations across multiple files. A motion to show cause was filed on February 25, 2026, by the county clerk's office. The defendant is claimed to owe $8,344 in court fines from November 10, February 23, January 13, 14, and March 28 of 2022. No installment payment agreement is on file. The last payment was received on June 17, 2025, from the Department of Corrections.
LaCourse was paroled in May 2025. An updated address for the defendant in St. Clair County was noted as of March 26, 2026. The court adjourned the proceedings for 30 days to ensure notice is sent to the correct address.
