In Huron County Circuit Court, Judge Prill granted an application to set aside a "no account check" conviction for Michelle Lee Todd. Ms. Todd, representing herself, sought to clear her criminal record, citing impacts on employment, housing, and family life.
The court found Ms. Todd met the criteria for expungement regarding the "no account check" conviction, noting she had completed probation and had no pending charges. An Attorney General letter also indicated her potential eligibility.
However, the court declined to rule on two other convictions from 2016 - identity theft and retail fraud. These cases, originating in Sanilac County, were deemed outside the court's jurisdiction, requiring Ms. Todd to file separate applications in the appropriate county.
