Two people sustained minor injuries Thursday morning following a collision on North Port Crescent Street in Bad Axe.

The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. when a driver attempting to enter a restaurant parking lot crossed into oncoming traffic. A 76 year old Burtchville resident driving a Chevrolet Equinox failed to yield while turning, striking a minivan traveling in the opposite direction.

The impact forced the minivan off the road and into a light pole. Both occupants of the minivan - a 58 year old woman from Sebewaing and a 78 year old Caro resident - received medical attention at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities determined the Equinox driver was responsible for the crash and issued citations for failure to yield and improper lane usage. Multiple emergency response agencies responded to the scene.
