During the last meeting of the Colfax Township Planning Commission, the selection of officers was done.

The board selected Zac Eskau as chair of the commission, Tim Gordon was selected as vice chair, and Mark Krug was selected as secretary.

Each of their terms are for 2026.

During the meeting, there was a public hearing for a special use permit and site plan regarding the proposal to operate a seasonal deer processing business out of a residence.

There was no public comment on the issue.

The board approved the request for the operation of Osantowski Season Deer Processing.

Tim Gordon obtained from voting so there was no conflict of interest.

Also, it was reported the Spicer Group continues to work on updating the township's master plan.

A master plan is intended to serve as a basis for future land use and development decisions.

It is an official document that serves as a vision for the future, and used as a basis to guide a community's future in economic development, zoning and ordinances.
