Planning Commission wraps up Huron County Master Plan and will forward it to County Commissioners for consideration - video

    Alan Bean of Spicer Group talked with the Huron County Planning Commission at Wednesday's regular meeting, going over the latest edits to the proposed County Master Plan. At the meeting the Planning Commission voted to send the draft proposal to the Huron County Board of Commissioners for their review. Building and Zoning Director Jeff Smith said clean draft copies minus the edits would be available later this month, and would be forwarded to the County Commissioners. The County board would review it. they could send it back to the Planning Commission for possible revisions, or if they approve of it, it would be forwarded to other governmental entities in the county for review. Smith said if it goes smoothly there could be a Public Hearing on the Master Plan in May.   Emergency Services Director Randy Miller and Alan Bean updated the Planning Commission on the county Hazard Mitigation Plan.They are looking to have a draft available in May and look to have it completed and reviewed by several emergency agencies in the state by the end of the calendar year. The Planning Commission decided to schedule a special workshop meeting, tentatively set for February 19th, to continue work on the proposed commercial solar energy ordinance.
