Randy Brown of Randy's Hunting Center of Bad Axe held a special evening of events at the Franklin Inn on Thursday evening in honor of receiving Ruger Retailer of the year from Ruger Firearms.

Randy said he was very honored to win the esteemed accredidation as the 2017 Retailer of the Year and thanked the many customers in the area and, of course, the .450 Bushmaster Rifle that was wildlty popular. Brown spends much of his time promoting the great outdoors and travelling all across the state to promote the Bushmaster and Ruger itself.

The evening was hosted by Randy and Ruger together as an appreciation for the work Randy and his team, as well as his family, put into promoting the rifle brand, but to also honor special guest, and friend of Randy, Richard A. Lipsey, former aide to President John F. Kennedy.

The evening consisted of a dinner, and bar, with demonstrations of new rifles soon to be releases by Ruger Firearms. Lipsey spoke about his time serving under Major General Wehle during Kennedy's assassination. Most of his story that evening consisted of the time between hearing the announcement that JFK had been shot up to the moment where he had to guard the body through the autopsy process. The tale was striking as Lipsey proceeded to tell the audience he might have been the last person, apart from the doctors in the autopsy room, that saw the body. A slideshow presentation containing pictures Lipsey himself had taken of the president were shown. Many of which were not supposed to have taken in the first place due to protocol.

Following Lipsey's description of events, Randy presented some guests with raffle winnings and giveaways like a unique, one-of-a-kind gun presented to a very lucky member of the crowd.

A video of the night can be viewed as part of the article.
